The Laboratorio del Restauro was established in the late seventies, when partners from different educational and occupational backgrounds, decided to embark on restoration, laying the foundations of the first company in Ravenna to work on the conservation and restoration of artistic and architectural works.

The company took its present form in 1984 and has seen the growth in-house of a real working team with a variety of skill-sets built up through years of shared experience: since 1986 it has had a constant number of employees and used a range of external partners, all specialists in the field, with expertise in different operational spheres in the conservation of artistic, historical and architectural works (restoration of paintings on canvas and wood panel, restoration of frescoed plaster, restoration of stone and stucco, restoration of mosaics and restoration of timbers).
Since the early, mostly local, work done in the field, for both private and public clients (Ravenna Directorate of Architectural and Landscape Resources, local authorities and credit institutions), the scope of operations has expanded to clients in Ferrara, Bologna and Forlì, staying within our region however, in order to guarantee the quality of our work.
In 1996 the company was admitted to the National Constructors register in category 3A, then changed to SOA (Certification for significant public contracts). Since 2002 we have had SOA certification qualifying us to undertake public works in the OS2 category, class II.

Our headquarters
Between San Vitale and Galla Placidia

Our operational, legal and administrative headquarters was designed and built as premises dedicated to our specific operations by the Architect Roberto Evangelisti (1930-2004), in the heart of the San Vitale area, creating a working environment on three levels, with large windows designed to make the maximum use of daylight; restoration work is carried out here on paintings, sculptures and artefacts of various kinds.
